EVENTS
Galveston Golf Cart Society hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including community parades, charity fundraisers, and safety awareness campaigns. Our events are open to all local golf cart owners who are passionate about giving back to the community and promoting safe and responsible golf cart usage. Join us in making a positive impact while having fun and connecting with fellow island residents.
Eligibility
Participation in this event is exclusively open to GGCS Members.
Obligations and Agreement
All participants are required to agree to the pre-determined obligations established for this event. This agreement is a mandatory condition of entry.
Registration Deadline
The deadline to sign up for participation is January 24, 2026.
Event Procedure

All contestants will walk across the stage, with Kings proceeding first, followed by Queens.

After their walk, all participants must wait in the designated staging area until every contestant has completed their walk.

Once all walks are finished, all participants will return to the center stage for a formal bow and group recognition.
Voting Process
Voting will be conducted using chips provided to attendees upon entry. The event coordinator will manage the distribution and collection of these voting chips.
Entry Fee
The entry fee for participation in the event is $25.00.
Gumbo Rules
Contest Details
The contest will take place on January 31, 2026, at the Krewe du Kartz Mardi Gras Barn Bash. To participate, all contestants must have a ticket for the Barn Bash, regardless of membership status. Contestants must arrive at 5:30 PM to set up and bring all necessary items, such as heating trays, ladles or spoons, and extension cords.
Gumbo Preparation
Contestants may choose any gumbo recipe. Gumbo must be pre-cooked before arrival due to limited time available at the venue. Rice or a side may be included if desired. Store-bought gumbo is not permitted.
Post-Contest Cleanup
After the contest, participants are responsible for cleaning their area and disposing of trash in garbage cans.
Judging and Awards
Gumbo entries will be judged by guests attending the Barn Bash. GGCS will provide tasting cups and spoons for the judging process. Awards will be given to the first, second, and third place winners.
